Ikkat Pattu Sarees

Pochampally saree or Pochampally ikat is a saree made in Bhoodan Pochampally, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Telangana State, India. They have traditional geometric patterns in Ikat style of dyeing. The intricate geometric designs find their way into sarees and dress materials.

Ikkat pattu has a special capacity to blur or smear the pattern, which enhances its beauty and attraction. The minor misalignment of the dyed yarn before it is woven into the fabric produces this effect, giving the fabric a distinctive and artistic appearance.

Because it is made of fine silk fibres, ikkat pattu is renowned for its strength and longevity. It is simple to maintain the fabric by dry cleaning it or gently hand-washing it in a light detergent.
